Brutalist Bird house

For this project, I designed a brutalist architecture-inspired birdhouse, using concrete casting as the primary method of construction. I experimented with 3D-printed molds to create precise, geometric forms that reflect the weight and texture of brutalist design.
Before casting the final piece, I ran a series of smaller material tests to refine the concrete mix and achieve the desired strength and finish. As part of this process, I designed and cast multiple ashtray forms, using them to dial in proportions, curing behavior, and surface quality.
These test pieces were later integrated into the final design as a functional birdbath at the base of the birdhouse, turning early experimentation into a purposeful feature of the project.
